So if any of you don't know about this, there's this thing called the Gallery Hop in Short North (down between 5th and Goodale on High Street) the first Saturday of each month from 4-10pm. It's basically this event where all the galleries shops and restaurants open up late and have specials for a night out of art. It's always really fun to see the different kinds of art and the stores down there are all pretty artsy too so walking into them and seeing what they have for sale is really fun too. I also like going because people dress nicer for the event since it's technically an art gallery looking kind of event, but a lot of people just go down there for the fun atmosphere. It's fun to dress up nicer than usual for a change haha. During the warmer seasons they usually have some street performances. I've seen an African drummer group, a Chinese dragon dancer group, and this time I saw some people break dancing out in a corner of the sidewalk which was really cool. Anyway, I went down there with two of my friends yesterday, and we ate Jeni's Ice Cream (amaaazinggggg). Whenever I'm there I feel I have to get the weird flavors since thats what they're famous for (they've been on FoodNetwork and the cashier told me that recently they've been on Food Network's show The Best Thing I Ever Ate -- talking about their spicy ice cream). I had Cranberry Sorbet (so strong and tart!), Sweet Potato (it was so good, and not too sweet) and then Olive Oil with Sea Salt (it wasn't as salty as I thought it'd be, but they added sunflower seeds for texture and it was kind of a mild taste that was still very delicious). I also went into this vintage store called Flower Child. They're crazy filled with all kinds of old stuff and I found a spoon ring there and had to get it. A spoon ring is a ring made out of the handle of a spoon that's bent into a circle to fit your finger :). Anyway, had a fun night so if you guys ever get the chance to go to the gallery hop you should!
I love Jenni's, my favorite flavors are salty caramel, and mango lassi.
