Blog 48 - Glee

Oh. My. God. Tonight's episode of Glee was AMAZING. I was so surprised and shocked by some of the scenes that I literally screamed and pointed at the screen with my three friends who were watching with me. We were all so shocked! It was really a great episode and it's episodes like this that remind me why I love to watch Glee. Sometimes Glee gets a little boring and disappointing, but when theres episodes like this I get sucked into the popular tv series again. Not only was this episode great in terms of content, but the songs were all pretty exceptional, especially Teenage Dream. I love the accapella version of it, especially when it gets to the middle and really starts to open up. Anyway, music aside (which Glee has done a pretty great job with), this episode was titled "Never Been Kissed" pointed out the issues that people have with accepting who they are. The out-of-the-closet gay, Kurt, deals with bullying in school from one particular person, and no one really cares that he is being hurt so much. Kurt has to deal with being the openly gay person in school, and finds it hard to accept himself when others are so unaccepting of him. Another character, Beiste, the female coach of the football team, is having trouble with people making fun of her for being so masculine of a female. She wants to be accepted as a woman, even if she isn't as beautiful as most girls. She struggles with insecurity of her body image. Eventually, both Coach Beiste and Kurt find a way to accept themselves for who they are. I don't want to give away the "OMG" moments, but they have to do with both Kurt and the coach...so good aaah!!!

  1. Glee is awesome. I am constantly reintroduced to old songs that my parents made me listen to on the radio stations in the car when I was little. I like Glee's versions better! I also blogged on Glee, but I gave away the OMG moment, sorry!
